One of the best computer companies around!

5 Stars

This has to be one of the best computer companies I have seen. I do a lot of computing and have ordered many computers in the past but Dell is one of the best because of the prices they offer. In total I have ordered four computers over some years, back a few years ago they weren’t very good but know they are taking over. The one thing I like about Dell is when ordering the computer; the best thing to do is not to order computers online. The best way to order a computer from Dell is over the phone. When phoning them, I told the sales person what specs I wanted on the computer, they then calculated the price and it came out as the exact price that was in the newspaper, I was disappointed, but they then knocked off nearly £100 of the computer price with free delivery.

The delivery is great as you can track it online and will be delivered on time. I have used the Dell PC for a year and have not had many problems with the system.

Overall, I think that Dell has got a great reputation and will be even bigger in the next few years. The computers that I have ordered are very reliable and all run smoothly.

Excellent!

5 Stars

Dell not only supply top quality, stylish computers and accessories but also provide realistic finance and comprehensive product support. Dells website is nice to navigate, however it would be nice to see the prices of products without having to navigate through several pages. I have not yet purchased products from Dell, but have used them and found them excellent, not only as a user, but as a technician. The build quality is superior to many manufacturers. Prices are very competitive, especially when all of the above is taken into consideration. Upgrade options are also easy and varied. I would and do always recommend Dell to anyone looking into buying a high end desktop computer or notebook.

Easy and simple to use!

5 Stars

I was looking for a new home pc, after deciding to sell my old one, and my employer at the time always used Dell pcs and we had never had any problems with them, so I decided to go online and see what deals there were to be had. The website was easy to use, you start of by selecting whether the pc is for home or business use. Once there I decided to go for an up to date PC running the fastest processor, as this didn’t seem to be any more expensive than the older type processors. I ended up with a P4 1.7GHz processor and all software including a 17” monitor as standard (and in black as well) for under £700. Looking at other pc manufacturers a lot more would have to be paid to include a 17” monitor as well as the pc not looking as good. I have had the pc 6 months now and it hasn’t crashed once, even with all the software loading and unloading going on. All in all one of the best PCs and buying processors I have ever used.

Dell OptiPlex GX620 USFF Notebook Computer

5 Stars

Who says business PCs must be dull? Not Dell: it's taken advantage of the Intel 945 chipset to create a line of stylish PCs that are both quiet and perfectly tuned for business. The smallest chassis - the USFF - is a particular gem.

Dell's new OptiPlex GX620 range represents a stride forward in business PC design. Our pick is the USFF, but the DT also offers a very good compromise between size and value.

Across the whole range, it's hard to fault the designs. They're quiet, attractive and - aside from the MT - compact, with up-to-the-minute technology, including the 945G Express chipset and dual-core CPU options. When you combine the support savings due to the common disk image, none of the previous business PCs we've seen - including the NEC PowerMate ML7, which has been on our A List for the last five months - can match them.

The OptiPlex GX620 range also flouts the rule that business PCs must look plain. If it's time to refresh your PCs, and you want a range of powerful options, the GX620 is the new leader!

Dell Latitude D520 business notebook

3 Stars

A fair bit bulkier than its svelte sibling the Latitude D620, the Latitude D520 is Dell's latest notebook aimed at budget-conscious businesses.

The D520 has a choice of processors. If you don’t fancy the standard Intel Core Duo T2300 (1.66GHz), as supplied with this review sample, you can choose from T2400 (1.83GHz) and two Celeron M models - the 420 and 430 (1.6GHz and 1.73GHz respectively).

It comes with 512MB of 667MHz DDR2 memory as standard, but there are options to buy more should you feel the need. An extra 512MB will cost you just under £100.

The 15in XGA panel has a native resolution of 1,024 x 768, but if the budget will stretch to it it’s well worth paying the extra £49 to get the SXGA+ panel with its 1,400 x 1,050 resolution; this will give you a fair bit more room to work with.

Our benchmarks show the D520 offers a good mix of performance and battery life.
